Here’s a small sample of the handcrafted art work and signs I’ve produced for a number of TV shows, advertisements and film productions.

I began sign writing at the age of 15. I served a 5 year (10,000 hrs) apprenticeship with Harriman Signs Ltd here in Auckland, New Zealand. I stayed with Harrimans for around 12 years. In that time I grew from worker, to foreman, to running the show.

In those days there was no such thing as a computer that plotted vinyl. As a result, I learnt the art of handwritten signage. This has been my passion ever since.

In 1995 I set up Brushmarks Signs Ltd. Since then I have realized my talent for producing hand written art work and signs, impossible to do on a computer. 

I have produced a wide range of specialist signs predominantly for the film industry. My work can be seen in the “Chronicles of Narnia  series”, “Legend of the Seeker”, “Hercules”, “Xena”, “Boogeyman” and “Eisenhower”, to mention a few.

In recent years I have expanded my range of signs to include a variety replica antique signs. These are one off and made to order signs which have become very popular and in demand.

Brushmarks is also set up to deliver all forms of commercial signage.  We have computer based software for producing a wide variety of vinyl signs and digital prints for vehicles, shops, boats, warehouses. and hoardings.
